Privacy Policy for Everherd

Effective date: 17 October 2026
Last updated: 17 October 2026

Who we are

Everherd ("the Game") is made and published by Scoville Games Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17413330), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for the information described below.

Contact us about anything in this policy, including any request about your data, at support@scovillegames.com.

The short version

The age question

The first time you open Everherd we ask one neutral question about age. We store only the resulting year of birth, on your device, and never send it to us or to anyone else. We compare it with the age of digital consent where you live (13 in the United States, 13 to 16 across the UK and the EU) to choose one of two privacy settings:

Crash reports, described below, are sent for every player whatever the answer.

The question is asked once. No answer is suggested and none unlocks anything in the game.

What we collect and why

Kept on your device only

Your game progress, your settings, your answer to the age question and a record of the purchases you own stay on your device and are not sent to us. Deleting the app deletes them.

An anonymous player ID and a backup of your progress (all players)

When the game starts it signs in anonymously to our game service provider and receives a randomly generated player ID. It is not linked to your name, email address, store account or advertising identifier. The game shows it in Settings as your Support ID.

From time to time the game uploads a copy of your game progress, stored against that ID, with basic technical details such as the app version and platform. The backup contains game progress only. We use the ID and the backup to run the game, to offer your progress back if it is lost on your device, and to help you if you contact us.

The game also downloads configuration from our servers (game balance, feature settings and news). To return the right settings, each download sends the player ID, an installation identifier and basic technical details about the device and app, such as the model, operating system, language and app version.

Crash reports (all players)

When the game crashes or hits an error, it sends a crash report so we can find and fix the problem. A report contains the error and where it happened, the device model, operating system and app version, the few game events just before the problem, basic stability counts (such as how often sessions end in a crash) and a random identifier created by the crash-reporting service.

For players at or above the age of digital consent, reports are also labelled with the Support ID, so we can connect a problem you report to what went wrong. Below the age of digital consent they carry no Support ID and are used only to keep the game working. There is no setting to turn crash reports off: without them we could not find and fix problems, including ones that only affect some players.

If you are at or above the age of digital consent and you are not in the UK, the EU or Switzerland, the game sends us gameplay events, such as starting a session, reaching milestones, completing purchases, claiming rewards, watching videos and the overall progress of your farm. They start after the consent step and are labelled with your Support ID and nothing else that identifies you, so that we can delete them if you ask. We use them only to understand how the game is played and to improve it. We do not use them to build advertising profiles.

We collect no analytics below the age of digital consent, before you have answered the age question, or from players in the UK, the EU or Switzerland. We tell where you are from the consent service's location check and your device's region setting.

Advertising

Everherd shows optional rewarded videos: you choose to watch one in exchange for a bonus, and declining never costs you anything. Players at or above the age of digital consent may occasionally also see a full-screen advert at a natural break in play.

Ads are delivered by advertising partners through an ad mediation service. To show and measure an ad, they receive technical information such as device type, operating system, IP address (from which they estimate your approximate location), advertising and device identifiers, how the ad was viewed and basic information about in-app activity such as purchases. We do not give them your Support ID, your progress, or your age answer.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see your card details, billing address or store account. The game receives the store's purchase receipt, which we check with Apple or Google through our game service provider to confirm that it is genuine. A failed check never takes away anything you have paid for.

The purchase service built into the game (Unity In-App Purchasing) also reports to Unity, for every player: each time the game starts, and at each step of a purchase. These reports contain the player ID, an installation identifier (on iPhone and iPad, also an identifier Apple gives the game for your device), technical details such as the device model, operating system, language settings and storage size, and, for a purchase, what was bought, its price and the store receipt. Unity uses them to run the purchase service, to keep records and to prevent fraud.

If you allow notifications, the game schedules occasional reminders on your device (for example, that your farm has filled up while you were away). They are created on the device itself; no notification data is sent to us. You can turn them off in the game's settings or your device's settings. Players below the age of digital consent are never asked and never receive them.

What we never do

Children's privacy

Everherd is for all ages. We designed it to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Google Play's Families policy and the UK Age Appropriate Design Code.

For players below the age of digital consent, the information that leaves the device is:

All of it is used only to run the game, keep it working, prevent fraud and support the player. In US law this is "support for internal operations". It is never used to contact a child, to build a profile of them or to personalise the ads they see. We collect no analytics from these players, do not personalise their ads, do not ask them for notifications, and do not show them promotional offers.

Parents and guardians can ask us to delete a child's data, as described below. If you believe a child has given us personal information we have not described here, contact us and we will delete it.

Who receives data

We use service providers that process data on our behalf and under contract, for the purposes above. Currently they are:

Purchase serviceUnity Technologies (Unity In-App Purchasing)
Ad mediationUnity Technologies (Unity LevelPlay)
Advertising partnersUnity Ads, ironSource Ads, Google AdMob

We may change these providers or add ones of the same kind. We will keep this table up to date. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to a successor if the Game or our company is sold.

Some providers are based in the United States, so data may be processed outside the UK and the EEA. Those transfers are protected by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

How long we keep things

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to our use of it, or to receive it in a portable form. You can withdraw your advertising consent at any time in Settings > Privacy Choices (where that applies to you) without affecting what was done before. Residents of California and other US states with similar laws also have the right to know what we collect and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; you can limit ad personalisation through your device settings as described above, or contact us.

Because we hold nothing that identifies you by name, send your Support ID (in the game's settings; tapping it copies it) to support@scovillegames.com. We will respond within one month.

If you are in the UK or EU and are unhappy with our response, you can complain to your data protection authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. To have your player ID, progress backup and any analytics recorded under it deleted from our systems, email support@scovillegames.com with the subject "Delete my data" and your Support ID. That is all we need; we also ask Unity to delete the purchase service's reports under that ID. We will confirm within one month. Crash reports cannot be deleted one player at a time and expire after 90 days. Parents and guardians can make this request for a child in the same way. Full details are on our data deletion page.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Where a change is significant we will also tell you in the game.
